Journalism (Period 7)
Course Description
Journalism students will learn: about the various types of journalism; how journalism and journalistic approaches have evolved over time; how to review examples of journalism for bias and accuracy; how to contribute to the journalistic process. The KCHS Journalism program produces four printed school newspaper issues each school year. We partner with The King City Rustler for printing purposes. Our school newspaper is The Mustang Legacy or TML. Students enrolled in Journalism must participate in planned-to-publish articles for each TML issue in order to pass the class. The three focus skills in this program are: research, writing, accurate and ethical reporting.
