Principal's Message

The school year has been off to a great start. Students are engaged in their classes and following classroom and school expectations. Dean of Students Mr. McKenzie and myself visited all English classrooms grades 9-12 to cover these expectations in a presentation.

We kick started the year with some events to create school spirit on campus. On 8/22 the Senior Sunrise was well attended with over 110 students participating at 6:00 AM. Mrs. Page, her parents and some staff, Mrs. Callarman, Mrs. Souza, Mrs. Reed, and Mr. Petrovic serve pancakes and breakfast to the students. On 8/25 our Fall sports rally in the gym was a Disney theme. The Mustangs showed up to display their school spirit.

Academically our Mustang students challenge themselves to take rigorous courses. The data shows we have 139 students enrolled in our dual enrollment classes with Hartnell. This is up from 56 last year. AP data results were released, and we had two classes, AP Spanish, and AP Seminar, where students scored 100%. All other AP courses: Research, Human Geography, English Lit and Comp, Macro and Micro, Modern World History, and Government all beat the national averages and were way above the California averages. Some of these returning students received distinguished recognition for their performances.

AP Scholar is granted to students who received scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams are: Leticia Anastacio, Alexa Flores, Mayte Gonzalez, Amity Hearne, Valeria Merino, Isleen Rivas, Shanezel Rollin, Kimberly Trujillo

AP Scholar with Honor is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on 4 or more of these exams are: Samuel Hearne, Hayden Munoz.
