I would like to welcome you to the King City High School 2019-2020 school year. Serving as the principal is a great honor and a great responsibility. It is a privilege to lead this staff, students, and the community for the seventh year.
On behalf of all the staff, I would like to welcome you and your child to King City High School for the 2019-2020 academic school year. Whether your child is a new student or a returning student, we hope to make this school year something great for your son/daughter.
At King City High School, we are aware that your sons/daughters need to be ready to meet the needs, challenges, and demands of today’s world. Our staff is committed to giving your sons/daughters the best education to prepare them for their future endeavors.
King City High School offers extracurricular activities in sports such as football, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, soccer, wrestling, track, baseball, swimming, and softball. We also offer a variety of clubs and organizations including Band, Drama, Leadership, Future Farmers of America, Yearbook, and Art.
At King City High School, we firmly believe that a strong home and school partnership will help our students succeed. To assist in all aspects of quality education at King City High School, both students and parents are strongly encouraged to take advantage of our valuable resources. Please make sure to meet with our counselors and communicate with them regularly regarding your child’s progress. Please take advantage of our AERIES Parent Portal to stay informed in the areas of attendance and academic progress
of your sons/daughters. Constant communication will ensure that your sons/daughters will have a productive career in high school.
Parents play an important role at King City High School (KCHS), and with your support, we will make a significant difference in the lives of our students. We highly encourage all parents and members of the community to belong to Mustang Bench, our FFA Parent Boosters, Band Boosters, and our KCHS PTO Organizations.
You, as a parent, have placed great confidence in King City High School (KCHS). We understand the importance of that trust and we promise to work in the best interest of our students and community.
Please note the bell Schedule. We will continue to have a 7 period instructional day with early dismissal
collaboration on Wednesdays.
Passes to eat off campus: (NO Open Campus on Wednesdays to allow for monthly class meetings, competitions, elections, and club meetings, and to allow for the fostering of KCHS School Spirit and School Pride!)
Note: The permits to leave campus are a privilege, not a right. The administration reserves the right to revoke privileges to leave the campus for any student at any time for violation of school attendance, and discipline policies. No student may have an F. Also, they must be on the track for graduation. More details will be given to students who qualify to enroll.
- 9th grade students are not allowed to leave campus for lunch.
- 10th grade student must be Honor Roll
- 11th grade students who Earned an SRI score of 1050 or higher as well as being Honor Roll with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- 12th who have passed at least one section English or Math of the Smarter Balance Test as well as being Honor Roll with a minimum GPA of 3.0

Attention parents! The Life Touch photographer will be here at KCHS (King City High School) during registration days! Photo packages are included. If you would like to purchase your child’s school picture, please make sure you complete the enclose Lifetouch order form and have your child bring it including the payment when they register. The make-up day for those who missed picture day will be in August 2019.
Back to School Night:
Back to school night is set for Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Parents please meet promptly at 6 PM in the school auditorium.
As you can see, we have many good things planned for this coming school year. I look forward to meeting
and working with you. At KCHS administration believes in having an open door policy, so please stop by
and see us. We will continue to work hard to maintain the rich KC traditions that have been the heart of
the King City Community and look forward to adhering to them. We are excited about this coming year! If
