Welcome to King City High School — Home of the Mighty Mustangs!

 

It is an honor to welcome all our students, families, and community members to another year of learning, growth, and opportunity. At KCHS, we believe every student has incredible potential, and our mission is to guide, support, and inspire them as they discover who they are and who they can become.

 

Our campus is a place where students are encouraged to challenge themselves, celebrate their strengths, and learn from every experience. Whether they are exploring new academic pathways, participating in athletics, joining clubs, performing in the arts, or serving our community, our Mustangs continue to show resilience, leadership, and heart.

 

To our parents and guardians, thank you for being our partners. Your involvement, encouragement, and trust make all the difference. Together, we create a school environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Extra-Curricular Activities  

King City High School offers extracurricular activities in sports such as football, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, soccer, wrestling, track, baseball, swimming, and softball. We also offer a variety of clubs and organizations including Band, Drama, Leadership, Future Farmers of America, Yearbook, Journalism, and Art. Our on-campus clubs have grown over the past year and we feel there is something for every student if they choose to get involved. We encourage your child to participate in extracurricular activities.   

 

Sports Athletic Clearance On-line Registration   

If your child intends to join a sports team next school year, please go to our KCHS Website: https://www.kingcityhs.org/ and click on the Athletic Clearance link, and follow the instructions of our new online sports registration. KCHS Parent Involvement  

At King City High School, we believe that a strong home and school partnership will help our students succeed. To assist in all aspects of quality education at King City High School, both students and parents are strongly encouraged to take advantage of our valuable resources. Please make sure to reach out to our counselors and communicate with them regularly regarding your child’s progress. Please take advantage of our AERIES Parent Portal to stay informed in the areas of attendance and academic progress of your child. Constant communication will ensure that your child will have a productive career in high school.   

 

Parents play a vital role at King City High School (KCHS), and with your support, we will make a significant difference in the lives of our students. We highly encourage all parents and members of the community to belong to the School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), Mustang Bench, our FFA Parent Boosters, Band Boosters, and/or our KCHS PTO Organizations.   

  

Orientation for New Students  

On Monday, August 4th, 2025 we will be hosting an in-person orientation for all new students and their parents. This will be held at the King City High School Stanton Auditorium at 6:00 PM. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school at 831-385-5461.

Student Lunch Drop-Off 
The front office will not be accepting drop-off lunches. If parents/guardians wish to drop off lunches to their child, they will need to sign their child out for lunch and take them off campus. Parents must sign them back in upon their return from lunch before their next class begins. Lunch time begins at 11:39 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and at 11:37 on Wednesday. There is no drop-off nor door dash allowed during lunch.

 

Passes to eat off-campus     

(No Open Campus on Wednesdays to allow for monthly class meetings, competitions, elections, and club meetings, and to allow for the fostering of KCHS School Spirit and School Pride!)   

   

Note: The permits to leave campus are a privilege, not a right. The administration reserves the right to revoke privileges to leave the campus for any student at any time for violation of school attendance, and discipline policies. No student may have an F. Also, they must be on track for graduation. More details will be given to students who qualify to enroll.   

   

 

 

 

 

Back to School Night 

Back to School Night is set for Wednesday, August 20, 2025. This will be held in the King City High School Stanton Auditorium at 6:00 PM. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school at 831-385-5461. 

 

How will the school communicate with parents and community?   

KCHS uses the following social media platforms to communicate with parents and students. We will notify you and continue to communicate with you any updates via an all-call and our social media platforms.

We will continue to work hard to return and maintain the rich KC traditions that have been the heart of the King City Community and look forward to celebrating them. Actividades Extracurriculares  

King City High School ofrece actividades extracurriculares en deportes como fútbol americano, voleibol, cross country, baloncesto, fútbol, ​​lucha, track, béisbol, natación y sóftbol. También ofrecemos una variedad de clubes y organizaciones que incluyen banda, teatro, liderazgo, futuros agricultores de América (FFA), anuario, periodismo y arte. Nuestros clubes en el campus han crecido durante el año pasado y creemos que hay algo para cada estudiante si decide participar. Animamos a su estudiante a participar en actividades extracurriculares.

Entrega de almuerzo para estudiantes
La oficina principal no aceptará dejar almuerzos. Si los padres/tutores desean dejarle el almuerzo a su hijo, deberán firmar la salida de su hijo para el almuerzo y sacarlo del escuela.  Los padres deben firmar cuando regresen del almuerzo antes de que comience la próxima clase. El horario de almuerzo comienza a las 11:39 los lunes, martes, jueves y viernes, y a las 11:37 los miércoles. No se permite dejar comida ni se permite Door Dash durante el almuerzo.

 

Pases para comer fuera del escuela

(¡No habrá campus abierto los miércoles para permitir reuniones mensuales de clase, competencias, elecciones y reuniones de clubes, y para permitir el fomento del espíritu escolar y el orgullo escolar de KCHS!)   

 

Nota: Los permisos para salir del escuela son un privilegio, no un derecho. La administración se reserva el derecho de revocar los privilegios de salir del campus de cualquier estudiante en cualquier momento por violación de las políticas de asistencia y disciplina de la escuela. Ningún estudiante puede tener una F. Además, deben estar en camino hacia la graduación. Se darán más detalles a los estudiantes que califiquen para inscribirse.
